INSTEP was founded in 2003 and has been growing ever since.

We originally focused exclusively on professional training in group Gestalt therapy.

Later, we became interested in the relationship and interaction among various schools of psychotherapy. We also developed the idea that psychotherapy can be effectively applied outside the therapist’s office as well – in other fields or within a social context.

All these influences led us towards an integrative approach to psychotherapy in which Gestalt remains our “mother tongue”. Our activities – training, research and social projects, among others – can be briefly summarized sing the term integrative Gestalt.

INSTEP is open to dialogue and innovation. In the Czech Republic, it promotes a broader definition of psychotherapy as an independent field and promotes the activities of the Czech Psychotherapeutic Society. It is also a member of the European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy.
